Some individuals should not use Semaglutide or Tirzepatide. If you have any of the following, these medications are not for you.
A virtual medical screening by our provider is the only way to truly know if this
medication is right for you. There are some instances where it would not be a good fit,
but for the most part, it has been found to be quite safe. Semaglutide is a GLP-1 agonist
that can help regulate blood sugar levels (increases insulin secretion) and increase
feelings of fullness. Delayed gastric emptying is another affect from Semaglutide and
can lead to nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation in some people.
Tirzepatide is another medication that has gained popularity for weight loss. It is
currently indicated for chronic weight management for specific individuals, via the
Brand Name, Zepbound. It has been well-studied and has shown great success with
helping people lose weight. Studies have demonstrated that in a head to head
comparison people can lose more weight faster with Tirzepatide. Tirzepatide utilizes a
GLP-1 agonist and another incretin hormone, GIP, to mimic the effects of certain
hormones to regulate blood sugar and appetite. Note: side effects may be more likely
with Tirzepatide, due to both a GLP-1 and GIP in this product. Common side effects are:
nausea, vimiting, diarrhea, constipation.
Typically, studies have found an average of about 17% weight loss with Semaglutide and
a 20% weight loss with Tirzepatide. Everyone's body and goals are different. We work
